Tengbom, Ivar (Justus)
(b Vireda, Småland, 7 April 1878; d Stockholm, 6 Aug 1968). Swedish architect. He trained at the Chalmers Institute of Technology in Göteborg and the Academy of Arts in Stockholm from 1896 to 1901 before practising in the offices of Erik Lallerstedt and in partnership with Ernst Torulf (18721936). After 1912 his own office soon became the largest in Sweden, employing a staff of 25. In 1916 he became professor at the Royal College of Arts and then held the position of Director on the National Board of Building and Planning from 1924 to 1936.
