Rosen, Anton (Sophus)
(b Horsens, Jutland, 13 Sept 1859; d Copenhagen, 2 July 1928). Danish architect. He was apprenticed to a bricklayer in Copenhagen at the age of 14 and also attended the Technical School there. He completed his apprenticeship in 1877 and entered the Academy of Arts to begin architectural training. On leaving the Academy in 1882 he was employed by the office of Vilhelm Dahlerup (18361907), where he held several responsible posts and acted as Dahlerups representative in Silkeborg, a swiftly growing railway town in Jutland. Rosen was awarded several independent commissions while staying there, and here he began his independent practice.
