Rosati, Rosato
(b Montalto delle Marche, 155960; d Macerata, 1622). Italian architect. His successful career was due in large part to the generous support and patronage of the powerful Peretti-Montalto family. He moved to Rome after the election of Felice Peretti as Pope Sixtus V in 1585. After two years study at the Seminario Romano he took holy orders and entered the service of Cardinal Alessandro Peretti-Montalto, the Popes great-nephew, from whom he received a number of lucrative benefices, among them the rectorship of the Collegio Montalto in Bologna (1590).
