Robert de Lannoy

( fl 1292; d ?Paris, 1356). French sculptor and painter. His name is cited several times in the Parisian tax rolls between 1292 and 1315. In 1317 he participated as a painter in the decoration of the château (destr.) of Mahaut, Comtesse d’Artois, at Conflans. Other commissions for the Comtesse included the funeral chapel she erected for her son Robert d’Artois (d 1317), but the artist is best known for his role as both painter and sculptor in the decoration of St Jacques-l’Hôpital, formerly located on Rue Mauconseil, Paris.
