Ricardo, Halsey (Ralph)
(b Bath, 6 Aug 1854; d London, 15 Feb 1928). English architect, designer and journalist. The son of a successful banker and grandson of the economist David Ricardo, he was educated at Rugby School and trained by John Middleton in Cheltenham and Basil Champneys in London. He married the daughter of Alexander Rendel, a leading civil engineer, and set up his own practice in 1878.
