Mio, Vangjush
(b Korçë, 5 March 1891; d Korçë, 29 Dec 1957). Albanian painter. He studied painting at the Art School in Bucharest (191519) and at the Istituto Statale dArte in Rome (192024). The realist landscapes he painted as a student, such as Dusk (1919; Tiranë, A.G.), are permeated by a romantic spirit. He painted in various cities in Romania and Italy, then returned to Albania, where he travelled widely, basing himself in Korçë, teaching drawing at the local Lyceum.
