Luca di Giovanni da Siena
( fl 138590). Italian sculptor. In 1386 he was paid for a completed marble angel and was advanced funds for another, for Florence Cathedral. In the same year he began a figure of Charity, later finished by Jacopo di Piero Guidi ( fl 13761412), for the Loggia della Signoria, Florence. In 1390 Luca was in Orvieto, where, as Master of the Works (capomaestro), he worked on a baptismal font begun earlier by others for the cathedral. He is last mentioned in 1390, when he was given a loan by the Orvieto Cathedral works on account of his poor health.
