(1) Felix Lindtmayer II
(b ?1523/4; d Schaffhausen, 5 Oct 1574). Glass painter and draughtsman. He was the son of Felix Lindtmayer I. His work was of great technical brilliance, both in the handling of the sketch and in the selection of colour and exploitation of painterly effect in the medium of glass. A drawing of Two Standard-bearers with the Banner of Schaffhausen (Boston, MA, Mus. F.A., 44.828) shows great facility in the handling of outline and shading using variegated neutral washes. His own coat of arms was found on a panel painted in 1552 showing the standing figures of Lindtmayer and Galle Jäger over their respective shields (Schaffhausen, Dr Bernhard Peyer, priv. col.).
