Kossak.

Polish family of artists. Léon Kossak (1815–77) was a dilettante painter; his brother (1) Juliusz Kossak, noted for his skilled watercolours, especially of equestrian subjects, was the real founder of a line of artists. Juliusz’s son (2) Wojciech Kossak was a painter specializing in military, as well as equestrian subjects. His son Jerzy Kossak (1886–1955) also became a painter; his daughters both became writers.
