(1) Christoffel Jegher
(b Antwerp, bapt 24 Aug 1596; d Antwerp, between 18 Sept 1652 and 17 Sept 1653). He worked from 1625 to c. 1643 for the Antwerp publishing house PlantinMoretus, producing book illustrations, ornamental initials, vignettes and similar book decorations, using a language of Baroque forms. His woodcuts appear in the Plantin Missals of 1626, 1628 and 1632, and in the Breviaries of 1627, 16312, 1636 and 1642. He also completed c. 50 woodcuts for Juan Eusebio Nierembergs Historia naturae (1635).
