Jazet, Jean-Pierre-Marie
(b Paris, 31 July 1788; d Paris, 18 Aug 1871). French printmaker. He was trained by his uncle, Philibert-Louis Debucourt, and soon became one of his best pupils. At an early age he was successfully producing and selling prints and drawings of the subjects favoured by Debucourt, such as hunts, landscapes and genre scenes. He soon mastered the technique of aquatint, which became his speciality.
