(2) Jacobus Houbraken
(b Dordrecht, 25 Dec 1698; d Amsterdam, 14 Nov 1780). Engraver, etcher and collector, son of (1) Arnold Houbraken. In the autumn of 1710 he moved to Amsterdam with his parents. Houbraken learnt how to engrave from his father and began by copying prints by Cornelis Cort, Jonas Suyderhoef and Cornelis Visscher.
