(1) Georg Glockendon I
( fl 1484; d 1514). Woodblock cutter, printer and painter. In 1492 he published Erhard Etzlaubs Territorial Map of Nuremberg (hand-coloured version, Munich, Bayer. Staatsbib.), the oldest printed political jurisdiction map. He also issued Etzlaubs Roadmap Through the Holy Roman Empire in 1501, an expanded version of the famous pilgrimage map of 1500. In 1509 Georg published his Von der Kunst Perspectiva (2 pages of text, 37 woodcuts), a plagiarized edition of Jean Pélerins De arte perspectiva (Toul, 1505 and 1509).
