Giosafatti.

Italian family of sculptors and architects. Antonio Giosafatti, a sculptor and architect, came to Ascoli Piceno from Venice in 1587; his son, Silvio Giosafatti (?1598–?1658), designed the coat of arms for Ascoli Piceno. (1) Giuseppe Giosafatti, son of Silvio, and (2) Lazzaro Giosafatti, Giuseppe’s eldest son, brought the influence of Gianlorenzo Bernini to the Marches, where the Baroque style came late and had a more reserved character—sober, balanced and free of exaggeration. Giuseppe’s other sons, Lorenzo Giosafatti (1696–1780) and Pietro Giosafatti (1699–1785), were also artists, but not as well known as their brother, with whom they often collaborated.
