Italian family of artists. (1) Giorgio Ghisi was the most important reproductive engraver of the generation following Marcantonio Raimondi (see ENGRAVING, §II, 3). His brother (2) Teodoro Ghisi spent most of his life in Mantua working as a painter and had a particular interest in the study of nature. The following members have entries:
