Geisselbrunn, Jeremias
(b Augsburg, c. 15946; d Cologne, c. 165964). German sculptor. In 1608 he was apprenticed in Augsburg to Caspar Meneller and may later have worked for Hubert Gerhard in Munich. He moved to Cologne at some time before 1624 and acquired citizenship. He worked in both wood and stone and in 1628 became a master in the guild of joiners and wood sculptors. However, in Cologne stone sculptors belonged to the masons guild, which he was not allowed to join until 1636. He was at various times an official both of that guild and of the citys administration.
