(2) Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo

(b Granada, 11 May 1871; d Venice, 2 May 1949). Designer, painter, etcher, photographer, son of (1) Mariano Fortuny y Marsal. When his father died prematurely in 1874, he and his family moved to Paris to join his uncle, the painter Raimundo Madrazo y Garreta. Through him, the young Fortuny met many famous artists and began to paint.
