Figini and Pollini.
Italian architectural partnership formed in Milan in 1929 by Luigi Figini (b Milan, 27 Jan 1903; d Milan, 15 March 1984) and Gino Pollini (b Rovereto, 13 Jan 1903). They met while studying at the Scuola Superiore di Architettura del Politecnico, Milan; Figini graduated in 1926 and Pollini, who was also a musician and poet, the following year. Both were founder-members of GRUPPO 7; its four-part manifesto (19267) laid the foundations of Italian Razionalismo (see RATIONALISM (ii)). They both also became active members of CIAM from 1930.
