Faistenberger [Feistenberger].

Austrian family of painters and sculptors. Balthasar Faistenberger was a stuccoist in Hall in the Tyrol, c. 1560, and subsequently moved to Kitzbühel. His son Andreas Faistenberger I (b Hall, 1588; d Kitzbühel, 1625), a painter, had two sons, the sculptor Benedikt Faistenberger (b Kitzbühel, 1621; d Kitzbühel, 1693) and the painter Wilhelm Faistenberger (b Kitzbühel, 1623; d Salzburg, c. 1690). While Benedikt had nine artist sons (including the sculptor Andreas Faistenberger II (1647–1736)) and five artist grandsons, Wilhelm had only two: the painters Joseph Faistenberger (b Salzburg, c. 1675; d Salzburg, 1724) and (1) Anton Faistenberger.
