English family of painters. (1) Arthur Devis specialized in painting fashionable 18th-century conversation pieces, while his half-brother (2) Anthony Devis concentrated on topographical painting. Among the former’s pupils were his sons (3) Thomas Anthony Devis, his first son to survive infancy, and (4) Arthur William Devis, his 19th child. The following members have entries:
