Decalcomania (ii).
Technique for generating images used, for example, by the Surrealist artist Oscar Domínguez: paint is applied to a piece of paper that is then either folded, creating a mirrored pattern, or pressed against another sheet (for illustration see DOMÍNGUEZ, OSCAR). The resulting image can then be elaborated, as in a blot drawing. It is a popular technique with young school children (see also AUTOMATISM).
