Baegert.
German family of painters. (1) Derick Baegert executed mainly religious works, as the master of a workshop in Wesel in the later 15th century in which his son (2) Jan Baegert and JAN JOEST were his pupils. Father and son are thought to have visited the Netherlands together, c. 14824, but although a Netherlandish influence pervaded their work, Dericks retained a Late Gothic style while Jans developed.
