Allio [Aglio; Allio de Löwenthal; Garovaglio; Laio; Lalio].

Italian family of artists. Originally from Scaria, Intelvi, in the 16th and 17th centuries many members of the family moved to Austria, Bavaria, Bohemia and Hungary, where they worked in a variety of fields associated with the building industry. The complex relationships of the members of the various branches of the Allio family to each other are sometimes problematic in view of their many intermarriages. The most important representatives of the four branches of the Allio family are dealt with below.
