artnet is partnering with ArtTable for their Artists’ Talk Series, happening monthly. This month’s featured artist is Brooklyn-based sculptor Orly Genger. Over the past decade, Genger has become well-known for her large-scale, hand-crocheted installations, which have been featured in galleries and museums nationwide. Her latest work is on view in New York City’s Madison Square Park through September 8, and features thousands of yards of rope, painted and shaped to transform the flat landscape into a dynamic, three-dimensional visual experience. Watch the video below to learn more about Orly Genger and her unique artistic process.
