Uno Langmann Limited is pleased to announce an exhibition of fine paintings by the Danish artist Ole Ring (Danish 1902 – 1972). Ole Ring painted mostly Danish landscapes from the areas close to his home towns of Roskilde, Koege, Prestoe, Ringsted and Copenhagen. He was a naturalist and his choice of subject, composition and rich expression of detail shows the strong influence of his father, Laurits Andersen Ring, who was one of the foremost Danish painters at the turn of the 20th century. Ole Ring’s village paintings as well as his elegant and sparsely-populated Copenhagen scenes are careful portraits of a distinctive Danish stillness, capturing the changing seasons, quality of light and atmosphere with pristine attention to detail. Ring became one of the last in his generation of artists who depicted the Danish landscape with tradition, and stood his ground in creating works anchored in the 19th century Golden Age of Danish painting.
Mr. Uno Langmann will be offering a free to the public lecture on June 21, 2014 during the South Granville Art Walk. Stay tuned to our website for the time to be announced!
