A Tale of Two Countries, Two Cities, Two Women: A Unique Dialogue Through Art

September 27 to October 26 2013 – San Francisco, California
November 7 to December 7, 2013 – Paris-Boulogne, France

Joan McLoughlin, The McLoughlin Gallery, San Francisco and Isabelle Lefort, Mondapart Galerie, Boulogne-Paris share the same passion for emerging and mid-career artists, showcasing bright, bold art that garners an emotional response. Each woman understands and embodies the globalization trend in the art world as an opportunity.

These 2 women have taken an innovative initiative to organize a cross–border exchange for their most promising artists. By bridging the 2 cities, they are organizing 2 exhibitions, a few weeks apart in their galleries to showcase seven of their accomplished artists, leading the audience on a journey of experience and discovery through this artistic dialogue.

The McLoughlin Gallery and Mondapart Galerie are pleased to present Unique Dialogue,, a group exhibition of three French artists in San Francisco: Charles Giulioli. Pauline Ohrel and Sophie Sigorel and four American artists in Paris: Daniel Healey, Christopher H Martin, David Middlebrook, and Cristobal Valecillos.

“The work of these French artists represents movement, finesse and deep feeling: A Glimpse into the French Soul” explains Isabelle Lefort. She adds: “Our respective commitment to another gallery’s artists is a strong recognition of each individual talent and value”. These two exhibitions will enable the art communities of each venue to become familiar with artists they may not have encountered otherwise. “The artists I selected characterize the American philosophy: Bold, direct, and spirited with socio-environmental viewpoints” states Joan McLoughlin.

“We have organized this exchange to provide the artists with global exposure through which we can achieve an ongoing dialogue in the arts between two cultures, two cities” says Joan. Unique Dialogue opens in San Francisco on September 27th with the artists in attendance with support of the local French Consulate. The exhibition will open in Boulogne-Paris on November 7th with activities planned with local civic leaders and the American Embassy. Isabelle adds, “We are excited to launch this exchange idea that will give our clients an opportunity to discover new talents and our artists a possibility to reach a new audience”.
