Kings Road Gallery will be showing at the 20 / 21 International Art Fair – 17th – 20th February 2011 – stands 58/59/60
The Kings Road Gallery offers a strong, varied and eclectic selection of art works, and can advise both seasoned collectors on how to enrich their collections, and novice collectors on where to start.
The Kings Road Gallery was founded in 1998 in London, having already opened its Hong Kong Gallery in 1995. It has established a global reputation for exhibiting some of the most exciting European and Asian contemporary work on the International stage by both well-established blue chip artists with auction records as well as young emerging artists on the scene. Tanya Baxter the founder and Director of the gallery originally cut her teeth in the art world in Hong Kong where she worked in partnership managing collections and securing art sponsorship from Virgin, Standard Chartered Bank, FPD Savills, Prudential, Barclays Wealth and many other financial and corporate Institutions. We continue to advise many corporate bank collections in Asia. We have focussed on getting a very eclectic and established stable of International artists, with artists like M.F.Husain, Sacha Jafri, Jitish Kallat, S.H.Raza, Ling Jian, Ju Ming, Zeng Chuanxing, Anthony Eyton RA and Pip Todd Warmoth, Konstantin Bessmertny, and Chinese art is rapidly growing in popularity and value - boosted by the country’s soaring economy.
Such is the importance of the capital for Chinese Fine Art, that The Art Market Monitor recently stated that “The Capital of China is London”. Tanya Baxter has worked with the rising stars of Chinese Contemporary since the mid nineties when the Gallery was based in Hong Kong, it has been one of the most dynamic new areas of interest for the art market in the last few years. Prices have soared and new names have become recognised overnight.
Also showing at the 20 / 21 art fair will be the much celebrated and revered works of the Russian satirical painter Konstantin Bessmertny, one of the most distinguished artists working in Asia today. His technical mastery, combined with his detailed knowledge and wit depict satirical and highly skilled masterpieces.
The 20 / 21 International art fair aims to bring a diversity of art works to international attention. A fair that heavily focuses on figurative works, the Kings Road Gallery & Tanya Baxter Contemporary will show an especially selected group of works from artists including Anthony Eyton RA and Pip Todd Warmoth amongst others. Following the success of the recent “India Art Summit”, (the annual seminal art fair held in New Delhi, now in its third year, that this year saw 84 galleries and works by 570 artists under one roof) one can see that Contemporary Indian art is taking centrestage, both at home and globally, and, with even confidence surveys predicting an optimistic picture, Indian art has never looked better. Increasing collaboration between Indian artists and international galleries and museums points towards the growing global confidence and recognition of Indian art and artists. Kings Road Gallery & Tanya Baxter Contemporary recently returned from New Delhi, where they held an exhibition of Modern Masters including S.H.Raza, M.F.Husain and F.N.Souza at the world renowned Imperial Hotel. Similarly, at the 20/21 international art fair we will introduce some of the young emerging artists from India such as George K and *********** amongst other sought after modern Indian artists.
“Art may not be very hard, but at least it is tangible; there is an international market for it both privately and at auction. And if inflation does rear its ugly head, people believe that art prices will inflate right along with real estate and other hard assets.”
Mukesh Panika, director Religare Art remarked, “Sustainability of art is not just about selling or buying. It’s about consciousness and engaging more and more people”.
