EXHIBITION SUMMARY:

Scott White Contemporary Art presents Work in Relief, a solo exhibition by acclaimed Chicago artist John Fraser.

The opening reception will take place on Friday, January 14 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in conjunction with Kettner Nights. Light refreshments will be served.

EXHIBITION DETAILS:

Scott White Contemporary Art is pleased to announce an exhibition of new work by Chicago based artist John Fraser. In his first solo show on the West Coast in nine years, Fraser presents San Diego audiences with his most recent constructions and collages made from found architectural tools, books and other various texturally interesting objects. Praised as having “strength of geometry, subtlety of color, exquisiteness of balance” by the Chicago Tribune's Alan G. Artner, Fraser finds inspiration in the honesty and inherent minimalism of these found materials.

Work in Relief will feature approximately 10 new works, ranging in size from small collages to largescale constructions.

ARTIST INFORMATION:

John Fraser obtained his B.A. from Roosevelt University in Chicago in 1975, and later received his M.F.A. from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL. In addition to being the recipient of numerous awards and commissions, he has received acclaims in major publications including, ArtForum, Chicago Tribune, The Oregonian, The New Art Examiner, The International Fine Art Collector, and many others.
