Artists in Dialogue
This year's presentation will feature print work by Georg Baselitz, Pablo Picasso, Glenn Brown, Arnulf Rainer et.al. that enters into dialogue with the Old Masters. A zincography by Pablo Picasso, for example, is referencing Lucas Cranach's painting "David und Bethseba". Georg Baselitz is speaking to Caspar David Friedrich. Glenn Brown turns towards Rembrandt and Markus Lüpertz takes Nicholas Poussin's "Le massacre des Innocents" heads on. A.R. Penck's work is present with a series of etchings on the subject of The Sculptor In His Studio.
