Opus Fine Art is pleased to announce Damien Hirst's New Beginnings exhibition, a collection of iconic and sought-after prints from the artist's popular spot, spin and butterfly series, published over the last decade.
Damien Hirst is one of the most collectable British artists working today. He came to prominence as a key figure of the Young British Artist (YBA) movement during the 1990s, alongside Tracey Emin, Marc Quinn and Gavin Turk and was awarded the Turner Prize in 1995.
2008 was a key year for the artist, when his audacious one-man auction at Sotheby's, Beautiful Inside My Head Forever, resulted in sales of a recorded £111 million. 2012 saw a major retrospective at Tate Modern, and in 2013 the art market experts ArtTactic advised that they believe his body of work will ultimately prove as durable as that of Picasso.
Prints and printmaking have always held an important position in Hirst’s artistic output, and we're excited to bring together some key images from his career, including the polymer gravure block prints New Beginnings, spot woodcuts and etchings from the 2002 portfolio In A Spin, the Action of the World on Things Vol. 1. Join us at the exclusive private view on 23 August from 12-4pm and be one of the first to view and buy from the prints on show. Please RSVP to attend.
