London, United Kingdom

Internationally renowned Mr. Brainwash comes to London for the first time, after taking over Los Angeles, New York and Miami in the past few years.

With the London 2012 Olympic games upon us, he couldn’t have picked a more suitable place to ‘spray’ his presence. For a few weeks, London is not only becoming the capital of sports, it is really transforming into the centre of the world.

Over 11 million of visitors from all around the world are expected to visit the city at the summer; and not only its sports facilities but also its many attractions, venues, museums and galleries. This is the proof, if any was needed, that the Olympic games are much more than a sports competition: they are a festive event and an exceptional get-together of people from various countries, cultures and backgrounds.

Opera Gallery’s exhibition features a selection of new works that have never been shown before and for which the pop street artist drew his inspiration from London: the most cosmopolitan city in Europe - if not the world. We are also proud to present, for the first time ever in a gallery show, several sculptures by Mr. Brainwash.

Thanks to Mr. Brainwash’s creativity, London’s celebration of the sports has now, too, become a celebration of today’s Street Art world. The polemical street artist, indeed, provides a new window onto the Olympic festivities, a window through which the city’s visitors can not only celebrate sporting excellence but also cultural dialogue and street and pop cultures.

And with the eyes of the world on him, Brainwash has at his disposal his most expansive canvas to date.
