The Nohra Haime Gallery will exhibit PRINTS, from September 9th to October 9th, 2004. The show consists of prints by important American artists of the Twentieth Century. The artists to be included will be Donald Judd, Robert Ryman, Sol Lewitt, Cy Twombly and Ad F. Reinhardt. The show will have works from the 1960’s and 1970’s, when these artists came into their own as master print makers. The prints come from several portfolios including but not exclusively, On The Bowery, 1969, and New York International, 1966.
The prints which are abstract in nature show how the geometric form is an important one in the print making world. The subject matter ranges from squares, to lines in geometric shapes, to criss-crossing lines forming prisms of different sizes and scribbled lines across the paper giving a wave-like melody across the paper.
