Mixografia® is pleased to announce the release of a new edition by British sculptor Rachel Whiteread scheduled to be exhibited from September 27th through November 24th, 2010 in the upstairs gallery. The new work incorporates 10-colors and is printed in high relief creating an object-like work taken from one of the artist’s personal, savored artifacts of her long-collected & assembled ephemera.

Following the highly public and much-admired journal-like career of the past 2-decades, Rachel Whiteread, in making use of the Mixografía® relief print medium, has masterfully conceived a work that includes both sides of a flattened and rusted paint can with its highly detailed surface. Known for sculpture that casts the absent negative space surrounding or inside an object, she now condenses that space, losing the volume and leaving its trodden external shell as a kind of man-made reptilian shed.

The new edition will also mark its east-coast debut premiering at the IFPDA Print Fair at the Park Avenue Armory in Manhattan, November 4-7, 2010.

Gallery hours are Monday to Friday, 11am until 5pm, and by appointment.
