One of the most important cultural projects of Maricevic Fine Art is an exhibition of the Russian realist art of the second half of the 20th century prepared jointly with the State Tretyakov Gallery and presenting works by Victor Ivanov, the Tkachev brothers, Valentin Sidorov, Alexei and Alexander Gritsai, Andrei Kurnakov, Gely Korzhev and few other distinguished artists, whose creative development formed in the post-war era.

This group was carefully selected by Maricevic Fine Art and State Tretyakov Gallery curators on the basis of our strong belief in the high artistic quality of their art and their lasting influence on Russian culture of the second half of the 20th century.

With this exhibition we want to demonstrate, that great traditions of the Russian school of realism are still alive, and that there is a number of artists today, whose works can easily withstand competition with paintings of great masters of the Russian art of the 19th - beginning of the 20th century.

Over the past few years we managed to establish an excellent personal relationship with the artists and their families which allowed us to assemble an impressive collection of their works, compile an extensive and detailed archive that became a strong basis for two documentaries and our future book about their life and art.

In the 2006 during the 3rd Moscow World Fine Art Fair we presented part of our collection as a preview of the future exhibition in the Tretyakov Gallery. We had a very positive response both from the art experts and the general public which gave us even stronger belief in our choice.
On 22-29 May, 2006 Maricevic Fine Art took part in the 3rd Moscow World Fine Art Fair held in the famous Manege, next to the Kremlin and the Red Square. Described as the most exclusive fair in Eastern Europe, it features annually about eighty of the finest international dealers specialising in fine jewellery, fine art and decorative objects, from classical antiquity to the latest expressions of contemporary art. This year we presented our new project entitled «EX VOTO» dedicated to the great traditions of realism in Russian art, with a particular focus on the 1960s generation of artists. The years of the Khrushchev era, also known as “the thaw”, witnessed the emergence of many of the greatest names of Soviet art: Victor Ivanov, the Tkachev brothers, Valentin Sidorov, Alexei Gritsai, Andrey Kurnakov and Gely Korzhev. Each of the artists has a unique place in the history of art and belongs to a generation that forged a path to a new realism by continuing the great tradition of the classical Russian school of art and depicting the world in its true form and unadorned beauty.
