Solo Presentation featuring: Serge Alain Nitegeka
A painter and sculptor, Serge Alain Nitegeka takes the minimalist preoccupation with line and the picture plane and poetically associates it with humanist notions of contemporary identity in flux. His large-scale, site-specific installations are highly demonstrative of this unique duality – they physically bisect three-dimensional space and use the viewer as a further disruptive variable, resulting in a tableau vivant of sorts, with the individual as both viewer and performer. As one of the art world's premier international events, the Armory Show brings together art, commerce, and dealers, collectors, artists, and connoisseurs from around the globe – the perfect venue to showcase Serge's vision, which has only been recently been presented outside of South Africa, and never in the United States.
