Magnum Photos and Paris Frameworks have joined forces to bring to the Upper East Side a selection of original gelatin silver prints by Burt Glinn. Highlighting Glinn’s eye for feminine beauty, the exhibition is made all the more beautiful by the custom framing of Paris Frameworks.

About Burt Glinn:

American, b. 1925, d. 2008

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Burt Glinn served in the United States Army between 1943 and 1946, before studying literature at Harvard University. Glinn became an associate member of Magnum in 1951. He made his mark with spectacular color series on the South Seas, Japan, Russia, Mexico and California and went on to cover the Sinai War, the US Marine invasion of Lebanon and Fidel Castro's takeover of Cuba.

Versatile, timeless and humanistically brilliant, Glinn received numerous awards including the Mathew Brady Award for Magazine Photographer of the year, The Dane Reed award of Harvard University and the Best Print Ad of the Year from the Art Directors Club of New York. His reportages have appeared in Esquire, Geo, Travel and Leisure, Fortune, Life and Paris-Match. He has three published books to date - Havana: The Revolutionary Moment, A Portrait of All the Russias and A Portrait of Japan. Glinn’s work has been exhibited internationally at the George Eastman House, Bonni Benrubi Gallery, the International Center of Photography, the Seattle Art Museum Gallery and the Fototeca du Cuba. His work is included in numerous private and public collections.
