Kwanhoon Gallery is pleased to present Kim Da Som's solo exhibition, 'Stare Silently and Motionlessly'. Looking upright or staring straight, the girls in her paintings have cat-eyes and vegetable or plant-like hairs which reminds of White Witch from The Chronicles of Narnia. However, the disguise to hide weakness and fragility makes the girls more vulnerable to the viewers with wariness and lethargy. The subject matter of her painting is artist herself who is pretty and friendly Korean girl. She dares to bring up her trauma onto the girls and tries to get over by staring silently and motionlessly as the girls in the paintings. Kim Da Som lives and works in Seoul.
