Opening Reception: Saturday, September 17, 2011, 6-8pm

On Saturday, September 17, 2011, Harris Gallery will open Abstracted Landscapes, oil paintings on canvas by Kathleen Earthrowl from 6 - 8pm.

Kathleen Earthrowl is an award-winning mid-career contemporary painter based in Houston. The arts were the vehicle through which Earthrowl became a psychotherapist more than thirty years ago. From the ponds on the land of her birthplace in Brimfield, Massachusetts, to the wild East End woods on Lake Houston in Kingwood, Texas, Earthrowl’s landscapes evoke emotion, passion for nature and a unique sense of color.

Her work is described as healing, serene, and calm. She is a colorist who often abstracts nature and thrills to the reflections of light on water and the density of the atmosphere.

Harris Gallery is located at 1100 Bissonnet. Hours are Wednesday - Saturday, 11-5. Reception for the artist will be on Saturday, September 17, from 6-8pm. The exhibition will continue through October 15. For more information, please call 713.522.9116 or visit harrisgalleryhouston.com.
