On Friday, 22 August, after the summer break, Galleri Bo Bjerggaard, Copenhagen will be opening the autumn season's first exhibition, which will be of works by the internationally-renowned British artist Darren Almond.
This will be Darren Almond’s first solo exhibition in the Nordic countries, and the gallery will be introducing the artist with a major exhibition that spans video, painting, objects and photography. Several of the works have been created especially for this exhibition.
Darren Almond was born in Wigan in England in 1971 and now lives and works in London and Norfolk. He has numerous solo exhibitions behind him, including at the Tate Britain, Kunsthalle Zurich and Kunsthalle K21 in Düsseldorf. As part of the British YBA generation, Almond was included in Saatchi’s legendary Sensation exhibition (1997-1999), and in 2005 he was nominated for the Turner Prize. Last winter, several of his works could be seen at the Louisiana museum of modern art, in the exhibition Arctic.
All are welcome to attend the opening reception, which will take place on Friday 22 August from 4.00-7.00 pm.
