Anatoly Shuravlev: Reach Out - China
8.3. – 20.4.2014

OPENING: Saturday, March 8, 2014, 4–7pm, the artists will be present.

In his second exhibition Reach Out – China at Galerie Urs Meile Beijing, Russian-born and Berlin-based artist Anatoly Shuravlev (*1963) takes on the topics of his 2007 show China Connection. Not only did he revise a series of c-prints, which was produced for the previous exhibition by engraving into the acrylic glass, he also took China again as inspiration. A map of China—measuring nearly 42 square meters—was created by monks in a Mandala-like fashion out of black sand, and a bronze handprint of Chinese artist Ai Weiwei asks the visitors to “Reach Out.“
