Galerie Michael presents a retrospective exhibition exploring the graphic oeuvre of Catalan artist Joan Miró (1893-1983), featuring over 50 etchings, lithographs and other works on paper. Spanning five decades, it examines Miró’s artistic development against the backdrop of his life and the political turmoil of the age. The exhibition features rare proofs and hand-worked impressions, offering a glimpse of the artist’s creative proccess, as well as several stunning examples large scale of Miró’s work on paper, showcasing Miró’s mastery of playful composition, vibrant color and texture on paper. Works range from politically-charged images against the Fascists in the Spanish Civil War, to exuberant illustrations of plays and poems.
