Welcome to the opening reception
in the presence of the artists,
Thursday, April 11, 5-7 pm.
Swedish artist Peter Frie (b.1947) depicts sceneries replete with feeling and memories of various locales. Frie paints from his memory. Powerful emotions sweep over the landscape - they crystallize something familiar, something foreign.
The Galerie Forsblom exhibition showcases Peter Frie’s new landscape and flower still lifes as well as his sculptures. Frie draws from traditions, but remains faithful to his own familiar expressions. As is common in contemporary art, he uses repetition and serialism. Peter Frie’s art serves as a bridge between the classical and the modern, bringing together history and the present. The works are timeless and placeless.
