Olav Christopher Jenssen: The Letharia Paintings – The Lux Generation
Welcome to the opening reception
in the presence of the artists,
Thursday April 10, 2014, 5-7 pm.
On exhibition at Galerie Forsblom, the new oil and acrylic paintings of Norwegian artist, Olav Christopher Jenssen (born 1954) will be on display. The narrative of his works’ subject matter relates to nature and, simultaneously, the tradition of landscape painting alongside global air pollution problems. Stylistically, the works approach action painting. But Jenssen's paintings probe even further into the rendering of nature and art’s tradition of penetrating analysis. In his mystical works, something from the painting’s essence is captured.
Jenssen works have featured in the collections of the New York Museum of Modern Art, London British Museum and the Paris Centre Pompidou, just to name few. He has had several solo exhibitions in Europe's leading museums and art galleries.
