Music by Mary Flower: Internationally Recognized Acoustic Fingerstyle Blues Guitarist (2011 Cascade Blues Assn. Muddy Award for "Acoustic Guitar")
Exhibit Through January 28, 2012
Jean Schwalbe, born in Portland, Oregon was originally a watercolorist, but has worked in acrylics since the 1980's. Her bold, energetic approach to painting the Northwest landscape captures the energy of the rushing rivers and majestic mountains by pushing her color palette to rich warm and vivid hues. Jean's impressionistic paintings are a surprise to the viewer as the colors are not what one would expect to find in a traditional landscape. Her wonderful warm colors of yellow, red, burnt sienna, orange and purple mingle with her blues, greens and browns to enhance and emphasize the strong and diverse landscapes of the beautiful state of Oregon. Jean will also feature her jeweled-toned masterful abstract paintings.
