Karl Kaiser has fourteen carved encaustic paintings on wood in this exhibit. Inspired by photography, Karl, relates his work to his trees and landscapes. He enjoys manipulating the wax through scraping, using impressions and smoothing techniques and carving into deep multicolored layers bringing a richness and complexity to his work.
This September, Karl won "Best of Show" in the Encaustic Masters: Inspirational Voices Juried Competition of 80 artists chosen from over 400 encaustic artists representing all of the U.S. and Canada.
