Atrium Gallery will open the Fall season with a solo exhibition by esteemed St. Louis artist FREDRICK NELSON. "Songs Without Words - New Works on Paper," will feature a selection of large scale pastels and also acrylic works. Color saturation is a hallmark of Nelson's pastels and wonderful rhythmic markings distinguish the acrylic works as well. Known as an accomplished colorist, Nelson continues to present new work with intriguing combinations of density, hues, and shapes.
Nelson studied at Kansas City Art Institute, Webster University, and Washington University where he received his MFA. He actively exhibits his work regionally and nationally and is included in numerous corporate, public, and private collections. He has been showing in St. Louis for three decades and continues with fresh, experimental, and very accomplished work, often drawing inspiration from classic jazz music which he loves.
The exhibition opens on Thursday, September 13 with a reception for the artist, 6-8 pm. It will run through November 24.
