There will be an opening reception on Friday, May 20th from 6-8 pm.
Rhona Hoffman Gallery presents “Never Let Me Go,” a group exhibition organized by Terry R. Myers. Named after Kazuo Ishiguro’s acclaimed novel about three childhood friends who slowly discover the astonishing circumstances of their humanity, Myers’s exhibition brings together significant works by seven artists who, by making “figure” inextricable from “ground” (and vice versa), engender the extraordinary and withstand alienation.
The artists in the exhibition are André Butzer, Folkert de Jong, Lari Pittman, Rona Pondick, Jeni Spota, Nicola Tyson, and John Wesley.
Terry R. Myers is a critic, independent curator, and Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is the editor of Painting: Documents of Contemporary Art, recently published by The Whitechapel Gallery and The MIT Press. “Never Let Me Go” is the third exhibition he has organized for the gallery, preceded by “Legend in My Living Room” in 1993, and “Angles in America” in 2008.
Rhona Hoffman Gallery is located at 118 N. Peoria Street, Chicago, Illinois. For inquiries and press materials please email rhoffman@rhoffmangallery.com, phone 312.455.1990 or visit
