Identity Art Gallery Invites You to "Art Taipei 2013" Booth E08
From 08 November to 11 November 2013

Identity Art Gallery is pleased to announce its participation at Art Taipei 2013 presenting Hong Kong Artist, Him Lo latest artworks at Booth E08, New Media Section.

Based on a poem written by the artist himself about the influence of his father, “Invisible Mark” reveals and questions the often-conflicting definitions of love, existence and sense of belonging that transpires between fathers and sons.

Taking football, a favourite pastime before Lo reached teenage when his father was still alive, as a symbol of this relationship, and pushing it through space and boundaries, against the backdrop of sounds, animation and empty canvasses, Him Lo explores the everyday existence of urban souls caught between the confines of time, ambition and values bequeathed from an older Generation.

From a black painted body to the ultimate emergence of true colours, from a real kick of the feet to the barely visible marks left on the metal canvases, Lo’s performance tracks how he breaks free to negotiate his own identity amidst the conditions of this filial relationship, while reconciling with the beauty of family and the harsh truth of time.
