Opening Thursday October 28th, Mayberry Fine Art is pleased to announce an exhibition of works by Jean Paul Riopelle. Recently released by the family of the artist, a body of work, including bronze sculptures and charcoal drawings from the artist's studio as well as a catalogue featuring text by Yseult Riopelle and Gilles Daigneault, will be available for sale. Yseult Riopelle will be in attendance during the opening.
Born in Montreal in 1923, abstract expressionist painter and sculptor Jean Paul Riopelle is widely regarded as the founding father of Canadian contemporary art. Internationally acclaimed during his lifetime, his works are housed in museums and galleries around the world including the National Gallery in Ottawa, the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim in New York City.
