DTR Modern Galleries is pleased to present our upcoming exhibition of the finest artworks by legendary Spanish Master, Salvador Dalí (1904 – 1989). Featuring a variety of graphic media, our Dalí collection includes a rich legacy of work that spans decades of artistic production. Acquired directly from the artist himself and held within a Florida family’s private collection until now, DTR Modern’s museum quality exhibition of over 2,000 Salvador Dalí pieces will be on view for the first time publicly.
Aside from a superb painter, Dalí is considered to be one of the best draftsmen of the century and has produced some of the most recognizable and skillfully created graphic media in the world. Several examples of his iconic imagery will be at the heart of the exhibition, including drawings, rare original copper plates and such crowning achievements as his Poems de Mao-Tse-Tung, Surrealist Flowers and Imaginations and Objects of the Future Suites.
While most artists merely flirted with surrealism, Salvador Dalí fully embodied the movement. Known as a rebel and eccentric in his looks, Dalí embraced surrealism as a way to express his hallucinations, fears and dreams through art. As one of the most instrumental masters of twentieth century art, Salvador Dalí’s legacy continues to influence and impact the art world today.
The exhibition will be on view at DTR Modern Galleries Boston location (167 Newbury Street).
